Board cameras are a low cost option for one who may want to build their own hidden camera.  This may be something even more discreet since there won’t be a worry for a nanny, spouse, or employee to wonder why a new alarm clock, or boom box or air purifier was purchased, especially if it wasn’t necessary.

Flat Lens Board Camera

A circuit board camera is what is most used to build a hidden camera into a normal item you would find in a home or office, such as a wall clock, clock radio, or tissue box.  It is a pinhole camera lens mounted on to a circuit board. They are extremely lightweight and small enough to fit into something for one to make their own hidden camera. There are two types of board cameras mounted on a circuit board; a flat lens and a cone lens. To hide a board camera in to a silk plant, then the flat lens would work best. The cone shape camera could be used if needed to protrude through an item.

There are other types of board cameras as well. Such as, pinhole board cameras built into a rugged metal housing with mounting brackets, closed board camera that includes LED lights on the housing, and a High Resolution CMOS camera which is very small, measuring only .5 inch x .5 inch.
